False dichotomies and specious arguments

False dichotomy: Pick Obama or McCain. You always have the choice of picking a third party, writing in another name, or not voting for the office.

Specious argument: There’s no difference between the Democrats and the Republicans. There are very real differences and consequences, and they should inform your decision.

  1. Yeah, and of the two "primary" choices–which, save for symbolism, are the only two practical choices–remember that it's not like they're both just as qualified and reasonable minds could disagree. That's a load of crap. They may both run around speaking as though they plan to exceed the executive powers, but one of them is far more qualified and the only choice a non-selfish, reasonable mind would pick (and he's not the senile one). I don't love the two-party system and, frankly, both parties are conservative as anything, but this time there's a very clear choice.
